How to install LetsEncrypt SSL in CPanel

In this post, we will learn about how to install LetsEncyrpt SSL Certificate on CPanel for a domain. This tutorial works for our customers. We are not sure, if your host offers a way to use LetsEncrypt like us.

So Lets Get Started.

We assume that you are using our nameservers, If you are using our nameservers, then everything will work fine and Issuing SSL Certificate takes not more than 3 clicks.

If your dns are not using our nameservers or if your dns is managed by third party services like cloudflare or godaddy or namecheap or something else, then you need to ensure that IP ( A records and domains / sub domains are properly setup and working ). If the records are not proper, then setup will fail to work.

If you do not want any hassles, simply use our nameservers. It will make cpanel to control all things and everything will work fine.

Step1 : Go to your account login or use the CPanel direct url and login to cpanel.

Step 2: You need to identify the LetsEncrypt SSL Option, you can either use search or you can find it in security section in CPanel

Step 3: Click the icon and it will take you to the list of domains hosted with us on the particular cpanel account. Now, you can select the domains or sub domains or addon domains listed here and install or issue SSL.

At an insance SSL will be used to www and FDQN of the domain attached with hosting. In short, suppose your domain name is mydomain.com then it is called FQDN (fully qualified domain name) and its sub domain will be www.mydomain.com.

After your SSL is activated it usually take less then 5 mins. It will start working immediatly, however you need to rewrite urls to fix mixed content issues. If there are no issues at all lock sign will start showing up.

Fixing mixed content issues depends on CMS or website, its not possible for us to write tutorial for every type of CMS out there, but we will keep our tutorials updated, as we continue to grow our customer base.

Now, watch this video to learn how to install SSL. This video also includes mixed content fixing for RVSiteBuilder based websites, just for demonstration purpose.

If your website is not built with this software, you can skip this part and just watch till SSL issue process. We hope this guide will help you learn installing free SSL certificates for your domains hosted with us.
